Our mission is to empower parents by helping them navigate the complex resources and educational support available for their children with dyslexia by providing dyslexia resources. We provide tailored guidance to ensure that each child receives the most effective dyslexia help and resources for their dyslexic child. Our comprehensive approach includes everything from helping parents understand their rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to assisting in developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that cater to their child’s needs. We create thriving dyslexic children in schools around the globe by providing dyslexia suport.
Established in 2019 by Hillary Reese Laxson, The Dyslexia Life has committed over five years to supporting dyslexic students in reaching their goals through valuable resources. Our history showcases successful assistance for those with dyslexia. We offer dyslexia help and support to students in public, private, and DODEA schools around the globe, including dyslexia resources, IEP consultation, and tailored assistance.
The Dyslexia Life was founded by Hilary Reese Laxson. She was a Coast Guard spouse for 12 years and has been in the military community since 2000. She graduated from the University of Denver in 1999 with a BSBA in Finance and obtained a graduate level paralegal degree in 2000 from University of San Diego.
She spent time in California, Georgia and Hawaii as a Coast Guard Family member. She has a child with severe dyslexia and other learning disabilities in college. Her daughter had an IEP in three states during her entire school career.
She is the parent volunteer for Deocding Dyslexia Georgia for military families. She also works as the Decoding Dysleixa Military parent for Georgia. She provides dyslexia help to parents in obtaining an appropriate IEP,
She has attended “Say Dyslexia” Day for the past 4 years in order to help bring more attention to dyslexia in the State of Georgia. Georgia passed SB48 “the Dyslexia Law” in 2019. Decoding Dyslexia Georgia provides dyslexia support to parents and families in Georgia
In 2023, we helped passed two new reading laws in Georgia HB211 and HB538. These two bills mandate the creation and monitoring of reading instruction and intervention for dyslexia (instructional materials, universal screeners, teacher literacy training, reporting on teacher training, and assessment and intervention) in the State of Georgia.
She runs multiple facebook groups for kids with Dyslexia and on Instagram as Military Dyslexia IEP
We serve dyslexic students around the world with dyslexia.
